Home for the Elderly

Nandi Zanzibar is particularly close to  this cause of providing support to the elderly and to sensitize and instill in Youth sense of responsibility and continuance of the African culture of caring for the elderly which if not natured will simply die in this modern world.

We invite volunteers to spend a day of quality time with the Elderly.

Corporates, Hospitality Sector and persons of all walks of life can help the Home for the Elderly in the following ways that have been indentified:

• Donating laptops and printing/photocpoy machine for use in their office.
• Volunteer your time to help create a database and maintain records for the Elderly who pass through their doors.
• Sponsor a day trip to one of the sites on the island as they often do not have the chance to get out.
• Sponsor a special dinner or lunch to celebrate them.
• Sponsor an upgrade of their kitchen from firwoood to gas to stop forest degradation.
• Donate bed sheets and pillows.
• Donate paint and skilled labor to give their rooms a face lift.
